. . ‘Youngsters in Woods’ portrays Benson’s three daughters close to the household’s summer time retreat at North Haven, Maine. Eleanor, the eldest, recalled: “Once we have been in North Haven, Papa would typically have us placed on our greatest white attire after which ask us to take a seat within the grass or play within the woods. We thought it was foolish and the maids made such a fuss after they noticed our garments afterwards.” Benson permitted his youngsters to learn or play playing cards whereas posing however disguised these diversions in his last compositions.
