Ivana Kobilca is among the most well-known Slovenian artists of all time.
Within the fourty-six years of her inventive life she labored in world artwork centres like Vienna, Munich, Berlin, and Paris the place she modelled her idiom on the best European naturalistic and symbolists painters. Kobilca was affiliate member of the French Société nationale des beaux-arts and was offered at their Salon thrice.
She painted ‘Summer time’ in her mom’s home backyard in Podbrezje, Gorenjska, Slovenia among the many barefoot youngsters enjoying joyfully on this lush inexperienced atmosphere.
She later recalled: “All the kids huddled round me as I labored, they usually criticized: Now she didn’t do it proper! ”
In 1891, the work was exhibited on the Salon in Paris.
