Józef Pankiewicz was one of many first Impressionists and Symbolists in Polish artwork firstly of the 20th century; and was initiator of the Colourist motion in Polish portray of the 1920s and 30s.
In 1889, he visited Paris for the World Truthful. There he encountered Impressionism, and, by means of Theo van Gogh, the work of Cézanne. The exposition of their very own work along with his buddies in Warsaw in 1890 signaled the start of Impressionism there.
Pankiewicz mixed Impressionist and numerous Publish-Impressionist approaches. Within the 1890s he introduced an equal depth to daylight and nocturnal scenes with the sunshine of metropolis streetlamps.
