Impressed by the richly adorned fountains and community of springs on the royal park of Fontainebleu, Three Ladies on the Fountain depicts a bunch of river goddesses gathered round a fountain. Picasso derived his composition from the sculptural reliefs of classical Greek grave stelae. The ladies don’t work together with each other, however are united by their cumbersome physiques and their material, which transforms their our bodies into freestanding fluted columns.
The unusual rotundity of the our bodies is just not solely juxtaposed by the closely hewed faces however by the deep gouged-in strains to indicate the folds of the attire. The accentuated width of those folds and the dramatic use of color to create them – silvery in high quality, towards the intense blue -add to this sense of heightened aid, contrasting with the browny ochre backdrop of the rocks.

Picasso lends the figures a 3-D high quality with easy, geometric kinds and a robust emphasis on line. He developed his private type of Neoclassicism concurrent along with his persevering with investigations of Cubism.
